Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use the HumanTech Summit 2026 website comfortably, whatever their device, abilities or way of operating a computer. The site is designed to follow WCAG 2.1 at level AA.

What has been done

  • The whole site works with a keyboard; focus is always visible and the first link skips straight to the content.
  • The mobile menu is a real button that announces whether it is open and closes with the Esc key.
  • All text meets the level AA contrast ratio; where the original brand blue was too light for white text, it was darkened slightly.
  • The layout adapts to screens from 320 px wide and works with text enlarged to 200%.
  • The site respects system settings: reduced motion (the photo gallery stops scrolling on its own) and increased contrast.
  • Headings form a logical structure and the language of the page is marked correctly.
  • Speaker biographies and programme details are in expandable sections that work with the keyboard and screen readers.
  • There are no flashing elements, no auto-playing video and no sound.

Known limitations

  • Photos in the gallery and some decorative graphics have no text description.
  • Links to partner and speaker pages lead to external services whose accessibility we do not control.
